AND on Facebook Live
Monday Night, April 17th, 2023 (program in English)
All welcome! Hear the testimony of the last few living survivors…
Stories from the Holocaust with Mr. George Loewenstein, a Child Holocaust Survivor.
George Loewenstein is an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor. Born in Germany, he and his parents were among the roughly 700 families who found refuge in the Philippines under Japanese occupation. He came to the United States in 1946, and he and his wife, Dorothy, made Aliyah from West Palm Beach, Florida in December 2020.
George and Dorothy joined their nine grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren who already live in Israel.“We want to be a part of their lives. We want to be at the brises and Bar Mitzvahs and weddings. I’d like them to know me. I don’t think my great-grandchildren even know who I am,” he said. Loewenstein noted that in Israel’s Holocaust Memorial Park, his footprints are engraved in a monument dedicated to World War II Philippine humanitarianism.
