JICNY From Pharaohs to Freedom with Elana Kaplan 20's 30's 40's
Join Elana Kaplan, museum educator and lecturer, for a pre-Passover guided tour of the Ancient Egyptian galleries at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Through ancient artifacts, this tour explores how Egyptian art, history, and archaeology can shed light on the Passover story. Together, we will deepen our understanding of the Israelites’ experience in Egypt by examining daily life, religious beliefs, and royal power—while considering questions such as who may have been the Pharaoh of the Exodus and the deeper meaning and impact of the Ten Plagues. An engaging journey that brings together biblical narrative and ancient material culture.
Date: Sunday, March 22
Time: 2 pm
Location: Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY
Tickets: Early $50 (until March 17)
