I'm Liz from London. I have been in NYC for precisely 1 month. I grew up in a religious home. My parents are both baalei teshuva. They are originally from England however their journey began when they met in Israel. I have spent the past 10 years within the Jewish charity sector working in strategic development and event management. I am taking 6 months off to spend here in NYC learning about what makes other communities tick. Over the past summer I was privileged to hold the position of Head of Logistics for Team Great Britain at the 19th Maccabiah Games. Walking out into the opening ceremony representing my country in the city that holds my heart was one of the highlights of my life and has given me the incentive to connect with as many Jews worldwide as possible. We are indeed one big family! When I was looking for something to fill my time once I arrived to the States, a friend who had attended JICNY events connected me with Jodi and now I am now busier than I have been in a long time! Currently I am working on all sorts of exciting projects with JICNY including developing Linkedin, organizing Shabbatons, administration of senders and organizing the forthcoming gala. I'm so excited to be a part of this amazing organization. Though we are a very small team, we are still able to give so much love, thought and attention to every event and also to everyone who walks through their doors!
