Private tour with a professional guide of the Jewish Lower Manhattan including
Wall Street – New Amsterdam – First City Hall – Synagogues – Whitehall - Greek Jewish Festival
DESCRIPTION: This tour goes along the “Colonial Triangle” of what was once "New Amsterdam," before it became New York, focusing on the southernmost neighborhoods in Manhattan. Tour-goers visit the exteriors of former locations of Colonial sites in Lower Manhattan, including Whitehall, Stuyvesant’s first home, the early Spanish and Portuguese rented synagogues, the Mill Street Synagogue (the first synagogue built in North America), the Stadt Huys (the first City Hall) and more.
As we walk along this “Colonial Triangle”, we’ll discuss New York’s history while passing by Wall Street, Federal and City Hall and will end outside of Congregation Shearith Israel's Chatham Square cemetery, which is the oldest surviving Jewish cemetery in New York City.
GREEK JEWISH FESTIVAL (optional, not part of the walking tour): following the tour, the group will head over together to the big annual Greek Jewish Festival block party, with lots of great Greek music, food/drink (kosher) and entertainment https://www.KKJSM.org/greek-jewish-festival

TIME: 11:00am- 1:00pm (tour is approx 2 hours)
MEETING POINT: 10:50AM Meet your guide in front of the National Museum of the American Indian, located at 1 Bowling Green. This is the same building as the Alexander Hamilton Customs House, adjacent to the northeast corner of Battery Park.

J & Z trains to Broad Street
R (& W on weekdays) trains to Whitehall Street
1 train to Rector Street or South Ferry
4 & 5 trains to Bowling Green
