Alex (Sasha) Loseva
I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and grew up in the Midwood area of Brooklyn. After finishing my studies at NYU and Teachers College, Columbia University I now spend my days working with young kids as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. I love my work because it allows me to help kids with speech and language challenges communicate better. It also lets me explore my creative side through using play and fun activities to reach out to kids. Working with young children can sometimes be exhausting, but at the end of the day is always rewarding! Outside of work, I enjoy travel, musical theatre, taking dance classes (zumba & belly dancing in particular at this time), reading, cooking, and event planning. I’m always drawn to people and my fellow Jews from other countries, which is what initially attracted me to JICNY. But it’s JICNY’s founders’ and team’s genuine warmth, contagious energy, and selfless dedication that keep me and so many others coming back again and again. They continually inspire us to reach out to other Jews and to take steps to learn & be better, happier, and more well-rounded people. I look forward to meeting you at a JICNY event!
