South Africa
I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa in a nicely observant environment where I attended Jewish day school, and was very much part of the community. I was educated at the University of the Witwatersrand (I know it’s a bit of a mouthful) in Johannesburg, and have been an attorney at a big New York law firm ever since. I have been blessed with the most wonderful and supportive family, and although we are scattered all over the world, we remain very close. It is this sense of family and community that I have endeavored to replicate in my life in New York, and JICNY has contributed much to the happy life I have here. I have always thought of Jodi & Gavin and JICNY as a modern-day embodiment of the spirit of Abraham and Sarah, inviting those from far and wide into their home and into their lives. When I got off the boat a few years ago, I was fortunate to have a close South African friend and my New York mentor introduce me to JICNY. In a transient city like New York finding your constants is of the utmost of importance. JICNY has been one of those for me, and I will forever be grateful to them for this. Thanks much JICNY,
