In 1995 Hineni Jerusalem was established as a not for profit association by initiative of Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis as a Center for Jewish heritage. In the year 2000 a new management was appointed under the chair of Benjamin Philip. The Rebbetzin although no longer involved in its daily management remained a strong supporter of Hineni Jerusalem as a sponsor until the year 2009 when she had to withdraw her financial contributions due to the economic downturn.
Under the leadership of Benjamin Philip and an active membership committee, Hineni Jerusalem expanded its vision and developed as an organization focusing on education, social and spiritual concerns. Its programs include humanitarian aid and relief for the less fortunate, while promoting mutual respect amongst Jews and people of all faiths and nations, inspiring them to pursue the betterment of society and a desire for a world of peace and justice.
