Beer Sheva, Israel
Although today I live in one of the busiest cities in the world, I was actually born in the quiet desert of Israel in the city of Beer Sheva. After my IDF service I dedicated my professional life to Zionist education and traveled around the world working with Jewish communities. A little over three years ago I moved to New York and decided to fulfill an old passion, cooking. I studied at The Center for Kosher Culinary Arts culinary school, and worked at some of the finest restaurants in NYC such as The Prime Grill, Porter House and Boulud Sud. Currently I am a personal and private Chef in NYC, offering cooking demos and classes, and work as a Sous Chef in CKCA culinary school. When people ask me what kind of food he likes to cook, as a good Jew I answer with a question, and say that “the real question is what do people like to eat? Because cooking is not for the sake of cooking, it’s all about the people that eat it"!!! Happiness, excitement and joy is the real food I like to cook. I met the amazing Alessandra Rovati last summer, she gave a "Jewish Venetian (Italian)" themed cooking class as a guest chef where I work. After chatting with her the whole evening she asked me to come and teach a cooking class at her home through an organization called JICNY, and I gladly agreed. The “Modern Israeli” cooking class that I led was a great opportunity for me to learn more about JICNY, and from the first minute I felt the warmth and friendship of the people. Now I am really excited of being part of JICNY not only as a chef, but also just as Shlomo
